A second pair of eyes should feel like a safety net, not a bottleneck. Here is how to build a review step people actually enjoy.
There is a common myth in teams that more review steps mean more safety. In practice the opposite often happens: pile enough eyes on every single post and reviewers start skimming, or worse, waiting until the last minute because the queue feels endless. A review step only works if the people doing it actually have time to think.
The fix usually is not more checkpoints, it is better placed ones. Decide which posts genuinely need a second look, a new market, a sensitive topic, a first time collaboration, and let the routine, familiar stuff move quickly. Treating every post like it is equally risky is how teams end up treating none of them seriously.
Give reviewers just enough to decide fast: the caption, the image, the account it is headed to, and nothing else to dig through. A reviewer who can say yes in ten seconds will actually read what you sent them. A reviewer facing a wall of context will find a reason to postpone.
Over time, trust compounds. The more a team sees that routine posts sail through cleanly, the more comfortable everyone gets reserving careful attention for the moments that actually call for it.
